Abstract

Growth is an increasing process of body size that follow a predictable pattern. Body size can be determined by calculating the Body Mass Index (BMI), which is the ratio of weight (kg) and the square of statures (m2). The growth pattern can be determined by connecting the median of each class of age. The research purpose was to find the body size growth pattern of male aged 4 to 21 years old in Suku Baduy. Even so, the growth velocity curve start at the same time, the statures growth velocity curve reach the peak first, then so do latter the weight growth velocity curve. The peak of BMI growth velocity curve happened in the age of 13 years old with the growth velocity was 0.804 kg/m2 per year. Based on the BMI value, the body size of male in Suku Baduy was small. This thing was happened due to the high level of physical activities.
