      Abstract
      Mahogany bark extract is a potential herbal medicine. An effort to optimize the efficiency of absorption mahogany barks extract in human body was carried out using encapsulation. Objectives of research were formulated nanoparticles of mahogany bark extract, identified the characterization, and measured the size of nanoparticles of mahogany bark extract. Optimization of formulated nanoparticles of mahogany bark extract covered various chitosan and sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) concentration, also used two methods, those were magnetic stirrer and ultrasonicator. Characterization nanoparticles of mahogany bark extract measured by Particle Size Analyzer (PSA), Scanning Eletron Microscope (SEM), Fourier Transformer Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), dan X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The best synthesized nanoparticles mahogany bark extract by using ultrasonication and the composition were 1% chitosan dan 1% STPP. Nanoparticles have average diameter of 50.79 nm of size and with morfology smoothed surface, convex, and globular.
