      Abstract
      Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an approach to building design, construction, and management. Tekla software is a new revolution in the field of engineering structures has several advantages over other application program that allows to create and manage data accurately and in detail, and can create 3D models of structures and materials without forgetting the complex structure. This study was intended to conduct IPB’s library building modeling with BIM software (Tekla Structures 17) in 3D and 4D and to explore the advantages of BIM that easier the coordination, speed the information, and save the cost. The research method involves the preparation stage, secondary data collection, and modeling using Tekla Structures 17. In the modeling stage, the first thing to do was to create a grid, and continued with the structure of the building foundations, pile caps, beams, slabs, and columns from floor to roof. In modeling with Tekla software, dimensions and type of materials used can be selected directly on each piece. Tekla software has tools that can simplify the design up to the time of implementation, including Orginizer Model and Task manager. With BIM, all building information was presented into one file so that it can save time and costs. BIM 4D modeling is very good if applied on existing development in Indonesia.
