dc.description.abstractResearch on the rumpon fishing for tuna catches was conducted in Palabuhanratu Sukabumi. Line fishing with rumpon (FADs) comprises with five type of fishing (trolling line, taber,coping,jerigen and fishing line with kites) which operate around rumpon. The objectives of the research are to determine the percentage composition of the tuna caught operated with rumpon and to examine the effectiveness of line fishing using rumpon in catching tuna. The survey method was used in the research and data collection is carried out by using purposive sampling. The results of this study indicate that catch of line fishing with rumpon consists of skipjack, yellowfin and bigeye with the total 24% which landed at PPN Palabuhanratu. The proportion of skipjack is 40.6%, yellowfin 37.6% and bigeye 21.6%. Effectiveness of line fishing with rumpon was obtained of 24% with the highest effectiveness of tuna catch in August around 58% and the lowest value in December at 9%.en
