Abstract

Tuna total production with rod fishing increase 0.73% in 2011, and total of rod fishing unit increase 1.55% in the same time. Technical and economical analysis must be done for we know how the feasibility of rod fishing unit’s business. The objective of the research is to describe the rod fishing unit, to calculate the benefit, and the investment of rod fishing unit’s business in Palabuhanratu waters. The research is case study of rod fishing unit’s business. Data analysis used description, technical and financial analysis. There are four types of rod fishing, those are troll fishing, pancing jerigen, pancing layanglayang and hand line. The rod fishing is not difficult in operation. Business of the rod fishing unit can give a profit Rp 67,245,500.00 and payback period is 4.2 years. The value of NPV is more than 0 (zero), Net B/C is more than 1 and IRR is more than value of interest rate. The business of rod fishing unit is not sensitive to the fuel’s price increasing. The decision makers can help the fishermen to improve their capital from finance institution, and do the detail technical analysis about rod fishing unit operation and its influence to stock equilibrium
