Technical review of Ur Island speed boat in Soufheast Maluku

Abstract

This research was carried out based on the need of maximum speed of ketinting boat (dug out boat equipped with machine) using some values of horse power (HP) sechas : 5,5 HP; 6,5 HP or combination 5,5HP + 6,5 HP. In the fishing operation, this boat is equipped with long shaft to connect machine with the propeller. This arrangement produce some degrec of angles between propeller the boat. Experimental method was applied in this research. Two kinds of boat were used suchas, boat with stabilizer (katir) and the one without stabilizer. The result show that maximum speed of boat (5-6 knot) is obtained by applying machine with 6,5 HP equipped with long or semi log shaft with cartain angles. Besides, fuel consumption on this power rate is the most efficient.
