      Abstract
      Research on metabolic testing combinations of red yeast rice and guava fruit, red yeast rice and ethanol extract of guava leaves, as well as combination among three component has been done on rats to find the alternative cure for dengue hemorrhagic fever. Clinical symptoms, body weight, and blood analysis on day-0, 14, and 28 has been observed during the treatment. Thirty rats were divided into 6 groups: the control group (K I), positive control (K II) (Remufit® 0.17 g/kg bw/day), negative control (K III), K IV (a combination of red yeast rice and guava leaf extract), KV (combination of red yeast rice and fruit juice red guava), KVI (combination of red yeast rice, red guava juice, and guava leaf extract). Quinine a dose of 100 mg/kg bw was given on K II, K III, K IV, K V, and K VI on day-1 to day-14, then further treatment is given to each group until day 28. The treatment of quinine, red yeast rice, red guava juice, and ethanol guava leaf extract did not affect animal's body weight (P>0.05) when compared with KI. The highest enhancement of platelet up to127% are the group were given by combination of red yeast rice dose of 0.4g/kg BW/day and red guava juice dose of 10g/kg bw /day(P <0.05).
       
      Penelitian secara in vivo pada tikus yang diinduksi kuinin serta kombinasi angkak dan sari buah jambu biji merah, kombinasi angkak dan ekstrak etanol daun jambu biji, serta kombinasi gabungan ketiganya yang bertujuan untuk mencari alternatif obat demam berdarah dengue telah dilakukan. Selama perlakuan telah diamati gejala klinis, bobot badan, dan analisis hematologi darah pada hari ke-0, ke-14, dan ke-28. Tikus sebanyak 30 ekor dibagi ke dalam 6 kelompok yaitu: kelompok kontrol (KI), kontrol positif (KII) (Remufit® 0.17 g/kg bb/hari), kontrol negatif (KIII), K IV (kombinasi angkak dan ekstrak daun jambu biji), K V (kombinasi angkak dan sari buah jambu biji merah), K VI (kombinasi angkak, sari buah jambu biji merah, dan ekstrak daun jambu biji). K II, K III, K IV, K V, dan K VI diberi kuinin dosis 100 mg/kg bb pada hari ke-1 hingga hari ke-14 yang selanjutnya diberikan perlakuan pada masing-masing kelompok hingga hari ke-28. Pemberian kuinin, angkak, sari buah jambu biji merah, dan ekstrak etanol daun jambu biji merah tidak mempengaruhi bobot badan hewan coba (P>0.05) jika dibandingkan dengan K I. Peningkatan trombosit terbaik hingga 127% yaitu pada kelompok yang diberi kombinasi angkak dosis 0.4 g/kg bb/hari dan sari buah jambu biji merah dosis 10 g/kg bb/hari (P<0.05).
