Pengembangan Uji Cepat Viabilitas dan Vigor Benih Kacang Tanah (Arachis hypogea L.) Menggunakan Pengukuran Respirasi dengan Alat Kosmotektor.

The aim of this research is to study of peanut seed vigor testing (Arachis hypogeae L.) by the method of respiration, especially using a cosmotector. The research was done on September to Desember 2011 in Seed Technology Laboratory and Post Harvest Laboratory, Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, Agricultural Faculty, Bogor Agricultural University, Bogor. The research consist of two combination studies. The research has six combinations of treatment between long moisturizing and long incubation at a temperature of 600C with the vigor of peanut seed. There are long moisturizing for 10 hours (L1), 15 hours (L2), and 20 hours (L3). And also long incubation at a temperature of 60o C for 15 minutes (O1), 30 minutes (O2), and 45 minutes (O3) which applied in four different level of seed vigor. There are storage at temperature of 18o C for 4 weeks (V1), accelerated ageing test of physically for 2 days (V2), 4 days (V3), and 8 days (V4). The result showed that all treatments has positive correlation for all benchmarks. The most appropriate method used to measurement of respiration rate of peanut seeds with pretreatment temperature of incubation at 60oC for 45 minutes. Alternative methods that can be used is moisturizing for 15 hours, and than seeds were incubated for 24 hours. Respiration rate was measured using a cosmotector.
