      Abstract
      Tea parasitic plant is a medicinal plant widely traded in dried form, allowing mixing with other ingredients. Fingerprint analysis with high performance thin layer chromatography technique can be utilized for testing the authenticity of commercial tea parasite herbal. Selection of the appropriate mobile phase is an important stage in the separation of components. The solvent selected as the eluent was a mixture of 1,2-dichloroethane and ethyl acetate with 65:35 ratio that gave nine bands in the original tea parasitic plant with Rf ranging from 0.02 to 0.97. The analysis showed that one of the commercial tea parasite samples had the same chromatogram pattern with the original tea parasite, while the other two produced 11 bands and appeared to be mixed with the tea leaves.
       
      Benalu teh merupakan tanaman obat yang banyak diperjualbelikan dalam bentuk kering sehingga memungkinkan adanya pencampuran dengan bahan lain. Analisis sidik jari dengan teknik kromatografi lapis tipis kinerja tinggi dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menguji keaslian herbal benalu teh komersial. Pemilihan fase gerak yang tepat merupakan salah satu tahap penting dalam pemisahan komponen. Pelarut yang terpilih sebagai eluen adalah campuran 1,2-dikloroetana dengan etil asetat pada nisbah 65:35 yang menghasilkan 9 pita pada benalu teh asli dengan kisaran Rf (0.02−0.97). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa salah satu sampel benalu teh komersial memiliki pola kromatogram yang sama dengan benalu teh asli, sedangkan 2 sampel lainnya menghasilkan 11 pita dan diduga karena pencampuran dengan daun teh.
