      Membran Pervaporasi Polistirena Dengan Variasi Penambahan Konsentrasi Pluronic

      Abstract
      Polystyrene membrane was modified by adding pluronic as porogen. The membranes were prepared by reverse phase method. The composition of polystyrene, dichloromethane as a solution, and pluronic were 17:82:1, 17:81.5:1.5, and 17:81:2. The mixture was homogenized by ultrasonic stirrer in 3 hours and then molded on to the glass plate surface. The membrane was submerged and washed into water of 60 °C and 65 °C. Pervaporation result shows that there is an increasing of ethanol concentration in unknown alcohol solution, which the first ethanol concentration is unknown before, from 12.6 % to 15.5 %. The feed solution of ethanol solution, which is made of 70% ethanol and 30% water resulted that ethanol concentration increased from 70% to 78.6%. Separation factor from unknown alcohol solution and ethanol 70% are 1.04 and 0.63.
       
      Membran polistirena dimodifikasi dengan penambahan pluronic sebagai porogen. Pembuatan membran tersebut menggunakan fase terbalik. Komposisi polistirena, diklorometan sebagai pelarut, dan Pluronic adalah 17:82:1, 17:81.5:1.5, dan 17:81:2. Campuran tersebut dihomogenkan menggunakan pengaduk ultrasonik selama 3 jam kemudian dicetak di atas pelat kaca. Membran tersebut direndam dan dicuci pada suhu berbeda, yaitu 60 °C dan 65 °C. Membran dengan pori terbaik ditemukan pada perendaman di suhu 65 °C. Hasil pervaporasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan konsentrasi etanol dalam larutan umpan alkohol yang sebelumnya tidak diketahui konsentrasi etanol awal, yaitu dari 12,60 % menjadi 15,5 %. Pada larutan umpan lainnya, yaitu etanol murni yang dibuat menjadi 70 % etanol dan 30 % air, konsentrasi etanolnya pun meningkat dari 70 % menjadi 78,6 %. Faktor separasi dari larutan alkohol dan etanol 70 % berturutturut adalah 1.04 dan 0.63.
