Reef fish spatial distribution and their assemblages in coral reefs were studied in Bahodopi coastal waters in Tolo Gulf. A total of 2849 individuals from 66 species and 17 families were recorded in 10 stations in the study area covering reef flat and reef slope. Totally 1367 individuals were recorded in the reef flat and 1482 individuals in reef slope stations. Among the three fish groups living in the coral reefs, there found that the most abundant fish were Major and Target fish groups consisting family of Pomacentridae, Acanthuridae, Labridae and Serranidae. Community structure analyses showed that diversity (H’) and Evennes (E) indexes were significantly high according to the categories. The ranges of the two index were 3,61 – 3,69 and 0,82 – 0,93 respectively. Spatial distribution of reef fish in the species level was not significant, but in the level of species groups, the spatial distributions were better. Mayor and target reef fish play an important role in the study area.en
