Jatropha can produce biofuel such as a biodiesel. Biodiesel milling produces waste or dregs which contains approximately 27% of crude protein that can be used as an animal food. However, its use is still limited due to its toxic compound which can be used as a biopesticide. This research yielded an n-hexane extract having the highest activity toward Crocidolomiu pavonaita instar I1 with the yield of 50.64%. This extract more potential as biopesticide as compared with synthetic insecticide (Decis 2.5 EC). After several phases of separation involving column chromatography, this active extract consists of three fractions. Characterization of the fraction was carried out on the most active fraction toward C. pavonana instar 11. Gas chromatography analysis showed that this active fraction consist of 12 compounds and infrared spectrum showed fknctional groups of -NH, -C-H from CH2 and CH3, and C=O. Based on qualitative analysis, this fraction was classified as alkaloid and terpenoid compounds, and molecular weight of each compound was in the range %om 281 to 486.en
