Keragaan Karakter Agronomi Beberapa Varietas Jagung (Zea mays L.) Dalam Produksi Jagung Semi

Abstract

Research was conducted to studied agronomic characters some varieties of maize in baby corn production. In addition, to determinated the varieties that are relatively equal or better than the control. The varieties were consisted of local varieties (Campaloga 2009, Ketip Kuning 2117, Lokal Oesao 3033, and Lokal Srimanganti 3201), introduced varieties (EW DMR Pool C6S2 3325 dan Phil DMR Comp. 2 3423), results of breeding variety (Arjuna 2585), and one of variety hybrid, BISI 2 as a comparison. The researh arranged in a split plot randomized completely block design with two factors and three replications. Character that was had greatest influence in determining the net weight cob of plant/yield were the net weight of cob, number cobs of plant, gross weight cobs of plant, number of rejects cob, cob length, and diameter of cob. Interaction variety and detasseling had significant respons to gross weight of cob for two varieties. They were Lokal Srimanganti 3201 and Arjuna 2585. The results showed that Arjuna 2585 has yield more than BISI 2. Varieties that had the potential of yield characters were Arjuna 2585, Lokal Srimanganti 3201, and Lokal Oesao 3033. In this research, generally detasseling increasing the yield and quality of baby corn.
