| dc.description.abstract | Civil society movement is a complex and interesting study. Not only relates to methods and goals of the movement but also the changes produced by the movement. By using the approach on the social movements theory that have grown, this thesis would like to dissect the differences between social movements in New Order and post New Order era. The results were obtained the two basic conclusions about the situation of the civil society movement in Yogyakarta in 1998-2004 as follows: first, that the changed political situation influenced toward the goals and strategies of the civil society movement, where the movement goal is no longer to change the government but divided into two major objectives, namely anti-status quo and political institutionalization. The strategic is also change, not only through a protest movement, but develops in the direction of cooperative strategies. Second, between the factors of external and internal of the civil society movements, internal factors have more influence, they are, the coordination, organization, and the ability to push the changes that targeted. | en |
