      Abstract

Angiogenesis is one of the hallmarks of cancer involved in tumor growth and progression. The complex molecular interactions and signaling pathways make the molecular mechanisms of angiogenesis difficult to understand when analyzed separately. This study aimed to integrate biomedical data related to cancer angiogenesis using an in silico knowledge graph (KG)–based approach to identify central genes involved in cancer angiogenesis networks. Data were collected from various biomedical databases, followed by a data preprocessing stage before being constructed into a KG using Neo4j. Graph analysis was performed through Cypher queries, network analysis, and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) analysis. The resulting graph consisted of seven node types and nine relationship types, comprising a total of 338 nodes and 3,378 relationships. Network analysis identified AKT1, CTNNB1, PIK3CA, KDR, NOTCH1, FGF2, and HIF1A as central genes in cancer angiogenesis networks. This approach provides a comprehensive representation of cancer angiogenesis networks to support the understanding of the molecular mechanisms of angiogenesis.
