The utilization of demersal fish resources in Palabuhanratu Bay has not been optimal due to the muddy sand reef bottom substrate, which limits the effectiveness of gillnet fisheries. This study aimed to compare the catch composition, determine catch productivity, and evaluate the effect of frozen bait boosters on collapsible two-tier fish traps operated using a colony longline system. The research was conducted from September to Oktober 2025 using an experimental fishing approach with three treatments: one bait booster, four bait boosters, and no bait booster. Catch data were analyzed descriptively, productivity was calculated using Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE), and treatment effects were evaluated using the Kruskal–Wallis test at a 5% significance level. The total catch reached 2.06 kg, with the four-booster treatment producing the highest catch biomass (1.01 kg; 49.10%), followed by the one-booster treatment (0.53 kg; 25.69%) and the control (0.52 kg; 25.21%). The highest mean productivity was also recorded in the four-booster treatment (0.063 ± 0.018 kg/trip). However, the Kruskal–Wallis test indicated that bait booster application had no significant effect on catch results (p > 0.05). Nevertheless, the four-booster treatment showed a tendency to yield higher catch weights and productivity compared to the other treatments.
