Taman Hutan Raya Ir.
The Ir. H. Djuanda Grand Forest Park is an urban green open space that provides recreational and ecosystem services to the Greater Bandung community. This study aims to estimate the economic value of tourism using the Individual Travel Cost Method (ITCM), analyze tourists’ perceptions of the area’s environmental and social dimensions, and formulate management recommendations based on visitors’ perspectives. Data were collected from 96 respondents selected via accidental sampling and then analyzed using multiple linear regression for the ITCM and likert scale analysis for tourist perceptions. The results indicate that travel costs have a significant negative effect on visit frequency (p < 0.05). The calculated consumer surplus was Rp281,712 per person, with the recreational economic value reaching Rp194.97 billion per year. Tourists’ perceptions of the area were very high (84.97% positive responses), with environmental dimensions (regulatory services) and social dimensions (psychological well-being) identified as the primary benefits most strongly felt. From the visitors’ perspective, management recommendations focus on improving the quality of services and operational facilities, including improvements in cleanliness and waste management, ensuring the safety of hiking trails, adding restroom facilities and environmental information/interpretive signs, and cracking down on illegal fees to maintain the comfort and sustainability of the area’s functions.
