Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingginya laju deforestasi, degradasi
hutan dan keterbatasan pendanaan restorasi lingkungan di Indonesia serta terdapat
potensi pengelolaan dana yang berfokus pada lingkungan hidup. Dengan
pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi pustaka, wawancara, Focus Group Discussion
(FGD) dan kuantitatif melalui SWOT, TOWS dan Analytical Hierarchy Process
(AHP), penelitian ini mengkaji peran, potensi dan strategi BPDLH dalam
mendukung pengembangan hutan wakaf. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa
BPDLH berperan strategis sebagai katalis pendanaan dan fasilitator kolaborasi
multipihak. Prioritas yang harus diperhatikan oleh BPDLH meliputi penguatan tata
kelola dan kapasitas kelembagaan serta kemudahan implementasi. Hutan wakaf
berpotensi menjadi instrumen syariah yang mendukung konservasi lingkungan dan
membantu pencapaian target penyerapan emisi karbon. This study was motivated by the high rates of deforestation and forest
degradation, as well as limited funding for environmental restoration in Indonesia,
and the potential for managing funds focused on the environment. Using a
qualitative approach through literature review, interviews, and Focus Group
Discussions (FGDs), as well as a quantitative approach through SWOT, TOWS,
and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), this study examines the role, potential,
and strategies of the BPDLH in supporting the development of waqf forests. The
results indicate that the BPDLH plays a strategic role as a catalyst for funding and
a facilitator of multi-stakeholder collaboration. Priorities that the BPDLH must
address include strengthening governance and institutional capacity, as well as
streamlining implementation. Waqf forests have the potential to serve as a Sharia compliant instrument that supports environmental conservation and helps achieve
carbon sequestration targets.
