      Sintesis Sodalit berbasis Silika dari Abu Kulit Jagung dan Aplikasinya sebagai Adsorben Logam Pb(II)

      Abstract
      Pencemaran logam berat Pb(II) di perairan memerlukan solusi alternatif yang efektif dan berbahan baku terbarukan. Adsorpsi merupakan metode yang efektif menangani masalah tersebut. Kulit jagung merupakan limbah biomassa yang berpotensi dijadikan sodalit sebagai adsorben. Penelitian ini bertujuan menyintesis sodalit berbasis silika dari abu kulit jagung melalui metode hidrotermal serta mengevaluasi kinerjanya sebagai adsorben Pb(II). Silika diekstraksi dari abu kulit jagung, direaksikan dengan natrium aluminat pada kondisi alkalis, kemudian dikristalisasi secara hidrotermal. Produk sintesis membentuk fase sodalit dengan ukuran kristalit rata-rata 25,49 nm. Optimasi kondisi adsorpsi menggunakan Box Behnken Design (BBD) dengan variabel massa adsorben (0,01; 0,03; 0,05) g, konsentrasi Pb(II) (10, 20, 30) mg/L, dan waktu kontak (60, 80, 100) menit. Kondisi optimum diperoleh pada massa adsorben 0,05 g, konsentrasi Pb(II) 24 mg/L, dan waktu kontak 100 menit. Sodalit berbasis silika dari abu kulit jagung berperan penting dalam pengembangan adsorben logam berat yang ekonomis dan berkelanjutan.
       
      Heavy metal Pb(II) pollution in aquatic environments requires effective alternative solutions using renewable raw materials. Adsorption is an effective method to address this issue. Corn husk is a biomass waste with the potential to be converted into sodalite as an adsorbent. This study aims to synthesize silica-based sodalite from corn husk ash using the hydrothermal method and to evaluate its performance as a Pb(II) adsorbent. Silica was extracted from corn husk ash, reacted with sodium aluminate under alkaline conditions, and then crystallized hydrothermally. The synthesized product formed a sodalite phase with an average crystallite size of 25.49 nm. Optimization of adsorption conditions was conducted using the Box-Behnken Design (BBD) with variables of adsorbent mass (0.01, 0.03, 0.05 g), Pb(II) concentration (10, 20, 30 mg/L), and contact time (60, 80, 100 minutes). The optimum conditions were obtained at an adsorbent mass of 0.05 g, Pb(II) concentration of 24 mg/L, and a contact time of 100 minutes. Silica-based sodalite from corn husk ash plays an important role in the development of economical and sustainable heavy-metal adsorbents.
