Kawasan pantai rentan mengalami abrasi maupun akresi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis sebaran mangrove dan perubahan garis pantai di Kecamatan Rembang dan Kaliori, Kabupaten Rembang selama periode 2015-2023. Pemetaan sebaran mangrove dilakukan menggunakan metode Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) dan Hemispherical Photography untuk mengklasifikasikan mangrove berdasarkan kelas kerapatannya. Analisa perubahan garis pantai dilakukan menggunakan metode Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI) dan Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) untuk memperoleh laju abrasi dan akresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pantai yang memiliki mangrove dominan mengalami akresi, sedangkan pantai yang tidak memiliki mangrove dominan mengalami abrasi. Perubahan garis pantai tersebut tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor keberadaan mangrove saja, melainkan juga disebabkan oleh faktor oseanografi yang terjadi di wilayah penelitian tersebut. Coastal areas are vulnerable to both coastal erosion and accretion. This study aimed to analyze mangrove distribution and shoreline changes in Rembang and Kaliori Districts, Rembang Regency, during the period of 2015-2023. Mangrove distribution was mapped using the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Hemispherical Photography methods to classify mangrove based on their density levels. Shoreline change analysis was conducted using the Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI) and Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) to determine the rates of coastal erosion and accretion. The results indicate that coastal areas dominated by mangroves generally experienced accretion, whereas areas lacking dominant mangrove cover tended to undergo coastal erosion. Nevertheless, shoreline dynamics were influenced not only by the presence of mangroves but also by various oceanographic factors occurring within the study area.
