dc.description.abstractMutu benih padi dapat menurun selama distribusi akibat paparan suhu tinggi sehingga diperlukan kemasan yang mampu mempertahankan viabilitas dan vigor benih selama periode konservasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh cekaman suhu tinggi, warna kemasan, dan periode konservasi pasca-cekaman terhadap mutu benih padi. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap split plot terbagi dengan periode konservasi pasca-cekaman (0, 2, dan 4 minggu) sebagai petak utama serta kombinasi cekaman suhu tinggi 40° C selama 0, 10, dan 20 hari dan warna kemasan (bening, hitam, dan merah) sebagai anak petak. Parameter yang diamati meliputi daya berkecambah, indeks vigor, keserempakan tumbuh, kecepatan tumbuh, kadar air, dan benih segar tidak tumbuh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi periode konservasi pasca-cekaman dengan kombinasi cekaman suhu tinggi dan warna kemasan berpengaruh nyata terhadap daya berkecambah, indeks vigor, keserempakan tumbuh, kecepatan tumbuh, dan kadar air, tetapi tidak terhadap benih segar tidak tumbuh. Mutu benih menurun seiring bertambahnya lama cekaman suhu tinggi, kemudian meningkat selama periode konservasi pasca-cekaman. Pada cekaman 20 hari, daya berkecambah meningkat dari 63–70% pada 0 MSP menjadi 93–99% pada 4 MSP. Penurunan mutu benih paling besar terjadi pada kemasan bening, sedangkan kemasan merah memberikan perlindungan terbaik, diikuti kemasan hitam.
dc.description.abstractRice seed quality may decline during distribution due to high-temperature exposure, requiring packaging that maintains seed viability and vigor during conservation. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of high-temperature stress, packaging color, and post-stress conservation period on rice seed quality. A splitplot completely randomized design was used, with post-stress conservation periods (0, 2, and 4 weeks) as main plots and combinations of temperature stress at 40° C for 0, 10, and 20 days and packaging colors (clear, black, and red) as subplots. Parameters included germination percentage, vigor index, seedling growth uniformity, germination rate, moisture content, and fresh ungerminated seeds. The interaction between post-stress conservation period, high-temperature stress, and packaging color significantly affected germination percentage, vigor index, seedling growth uniformity, germination rate, and moisture content, but not fresh ungerminated seeds. Seed quality decreased with increasing stress duration and increased during post-stress conservation. Under 20 days of stress, germination percentage increased from 63–70% at 0 weeks to 93–99% at 4 weeks. The greatest decline occurred in clear packaging, while red packaging provided the best protection, followed by black packaging.
