dc.description.abstractTaman Nasional Meru Betiri (TNMB) merupakan kawasan konservasi dengan biodiversitas yang berpotensi sebagai sumber senyawa bioaktif alami, tetapi informasi mengenai aktivitas antibakteri dan antioksidan dari tumbuhan masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji aktivitas antibakteri 62 ekstrak metanol daun tumbuhan TNMB terhadap Staphylococcus aureus, aktivitas antioksidannya, serta hubungan antara kedua aktivitas tersebut. Skrining KLT-bioautografi menunjukkan 9 sampel berpotensi antibakteri. Uji difusi cakram mengidentifikasi empat sampel aktif, yaitu MB32, MB38, MB43, dan MB44. Seluruh sampel memiliki MIC sebesar 2.500 ppm; tiga sampel bersifat bakterisidal dan satu sampel (MB43) bersifat bakteriostatik. Kadar TPC dan TFC berkisar 50,03–211,11 mg GAE/g dan 49,30–253,75 mg QE/g. Aktivitas antioksidan menunjukkan nilai FRAP 67,08–791,07 mg TE/g, IC50 DPPH 15,28–221,16 ppm, dan IC50 ABTS 2,43–11,18 ppm. MB43 memiliki zona bening terkecil menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan FRAP tertinggi dan ABTS terkuat. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas antibakteri dan antioksidan tidak selalu berkorelasi positif dan tumbuhan memiliki senyawa bioaktif yang beragam.
dc.description.abstractMeru Betiri National Park (MBNP) is a biodiversity-rich conservation area with potential as a source of natural bioactive compounds, yet information on its antibacterial and antioxidant activities remains limited. This study evaluated the antibacterial activity of 62 methanolic leaf extracts against Staphylococcus aureus, their antioxidant activity, and the relationship between both activities. TLC bioautography screening identified 9 extracts with antibacterial potential, while disk diffusion assays confirmed four active samples (MB32, MB38, MB43, and MB44). All samples showed an MIC of 2,500 ppm; three were bactericidal and one (MB43) was bacteriostatic. TPC and TFC ranged from 50.03–211.11 mg GAE/g and 49.30–253.75 mg QE/g, respectively. Antioxidant activity showed FRAP values of 67.08–791.07 mg TE/g, DPPH IC50 values of 15.28–221.16 ppm, and ABTS IC50 values of 2.43–11.18 ppm. Despite having the smallest inhibition zone, MB43 exhibited the highest FRAP and ABTS. These findings indicate that antibacterial and antioxidant activities are not always positively correlated and highlight the potential of MBNP plants as sources of diverse bioactive compounds.
