| dc.description.abstract | Zeolit dipilih sebagai adsorben karena dapat digunakan secara berulang dan kemampuannya dalam adsorpsi dapat ditingkatkan melalui modifikasi, yaitu melalui aktivasi. Aktivasi dimaksudkan untuk meningkatkan luas permukaan, membuka pori, dan menghilangkan pengotor zeolit. Aktivasi dapat dilakuan secara kimia menggunakan NaOH dan juga HCl. Setelah aktivasi, pada umumnya zeolit dicuci untuk menghilangkan sisa-sisa dari bahan yang digunakan dalam aktivasi. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menganalisis perbedaan kemampuan zeolit teraktivasi yang dicuci terpisah dan zeolit teraktivasi yang dicampur. Zeolit yang diaktivasi menggunakan NaOH dan dicuci terpisah menunjukkan kapasitas adsorpsi lebih tinggi dibanding dengan zeolit teraktivasi HCl. Zeolit teraktivasi yang dicampur memperlihatkan kapasitas adsorpsi yang rendah. Zeolit dengan pencucian terpisah memiliki kemampuan adsorpsi lebih dibandingkan dengan zeolit campuran. Zeolit teraktivasi yang dicampur membentuk garam dan memengaruhi proses adsorpsi. Garam yang terbentuk menyebabkan adsorpsi biru metilena pada zeolit campuran tidak lebih baik dibanding dengan yang dicuci terpisah | |
| dc.description.abstract | Zeolite was chosen as adsorbent because it can be used repeatedly and its adsorption activity can be enhanced through modification by activating it. The activation is meant to increase the surface area, open the pores, and remove impurities from zeolite. Zeolite can be chemically activated using NaOH and HCl. After activation, zeolite is generally washed to remove residual materials used in the process. This study was conducted to analyze the changes in the capacity of the activated zeolite that were washed separately compared to zeolite that were mixed. The zeolite that was activated using NaOH and washed separately showed a higher adsorption capacity compared to the zeolite activated using HCl. On the other hand, zeolite that were mixed showed low adsorption capacity compared to zeolites that were washed separately. The zeolite that were washed separately has better adsorption capacity compared to the one that were mixed. Mixing activated zeolite led to the formation of salt which affected the adsorption process. This salt caused the methylene blue adsorption on the mixed zeolite to be inferior to the one that washed separately | |
