Pemanfaatan Tepung Daun Kelor dalam Meningkatkan Karakteristik Reproduksi Domba Lokal
Abstract
Populasi domba nasional menunjukkan tren penurunan signifikan sejak 2019, salah satunya akibat penurunan kualitas reproduksi pejantan yang diduga terkait stres oksidatif. Tujuan penelitian ini mengevaluasi pengaruh suplementasi tepung daun kelor dalam complete feed terhadap karakteristik reproduksi domba lokal jantan Garut. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan (P0:kontrol; P1:30 g; P2:60 g tepung daun kelor) dan 4 ulangan sehingga ada 12 satuan percobaan selama 21 hari perlakuan setelah masa adaptasi 7 hari. Hasil menunjukkan suplementasi tepung daun kelor berpengaruh nyata (p<0,05) terhadap volume dan pH semen, dengan P2 (60 g) menghasilkan volume semen tertinggi (1,50±0,16 mL) serta pH paling mendekati kisaran fisiologis normal (6,50±0,58), sementara P0 mengalami penurunan volume dan kondisi asidosis seminal (pH 4,75±0,50). Parameter lingkar skrotum, warna, dan konsistensi semen tidak menunjukkan perbedaan nyata antarperlakuan (p>0,05), meski P2 secara deskriptif cenderung membaik. Suplementasi tepung daun kelor dosis 60 g sebagai feed supplement paling efektif dalam memperbaiki kualitas seminal plasma domba jantan lokal Garut. The national sheep population has shown a significant declining trend since 2019, partly due to decreased reproductive quality in rams, which is suspected to be related to oxidative stress. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of moringa leaf powder supplementation in complete feed on the reproductive characteristics of Garut local Ram. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments (P0: control; P1: 30 g; P2: 60 g moringa leaf powder) and 4 replications, resulting in 12 experimental units over a 21-day treatment period after a 7-day adaptation period. The results showed that moringa leaf powder supplementation had a significant effect (p<0.05) on semen volume and pH, with P2 (60 g) producing the highest semen volume (1.50±0.16 mL) and a pH closest to the normal physiological range (6.50±0.58), while P0 experienced decreased volume and seminal acidosis (pH 4.75±0.50). Scrotum circumference, color, and semen consistency didn't show a significant difference between treatments (p>0.05), although P2 descriptively tended to improve. This study recommends supplementing 60 g of moringa leaf powder as the most effective feed supplement to improve the seminal plasma quality of Garut local Ram
