| dc.description.abstract | FATIYA NUR ADILLA.

| dc.description.abstract | FATIYA NUR ADILLA. Comparative Study of Phenate Test Strip Method and Anthocyanin-Based Sensor for Ammonia Analysis in Liquid Waste. Supervised by DIMAS ANDRIANTO.
Liquid waste has potential to contain ammonia, which is toxic to the environment. This study developed a rapid ammonia detection test strip based on the phenate method and anthocyanin from butterfly pea flowers as an initial screening method. The resulting color analyzed using ImageJ software through RGB analysis. Optimum conditions were 5 minutes reaction time and 50 µL reagent volume for the phenate method, 1 minute reaction time and 0.01 M NaOH concentration for anthocyanin method, with the green channel as the optimum channel. The validation results of the phenate test strip have an R2 value = 0.9974, % recovery = 85.54 -91.72%, %RSD value of 2.49%, LOD and LOQ of 0.0193 and 0.0584 mg/L, the method is declared valid and meets the requirements of AOAC 2016. The anthocyanin test strip obtained an R2 value = 0.99531, %recovery 60.73-150.47%, RSD value of 6.80%, LOD and LOQ of 0.7741 and 2.3457 mg/L, so it is declared invalid against the AOAC 2016 standard. Verification of UV-Vis spectrophotometry method showed no significant difference (p-value 0.639 > 0.05), so phenate test strip has the potential to be an initial screening method for ammonia in liquid waste.
