      Analisis Kandungan Nutrien pada Kulit Buah dan Kecernaannya secara In Vitro

      Abstract
      Pemanfaatan limbah kulit buah sebagai bahan pakan alternatif merupakan bentuk upaya untuk menciptakan ketahanan pakan sumber lokal, mengurangi pencemaran, dan menekan biaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kandungan nutrien dan kecernaan In Vitro dari limbah kulit buah menggunakan cairan rumen dengan larutan buffer, diantaranya kulit semangka, kulit jeruk bali, kulit naga merah, kulit rambutan, dan kulit nanas. Analisis proksimat untuk mengukur kadar air, abu, protein kasar, serat kasar, lemak kasar, bahan ekstrak tanpa nitrogen, analisis Van Soest untuk mengukur Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) dan Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF), analisis In Vitro untuk mengukur Kecernaan Bahan Kering (KCBK), Kecernaan Bahan Organik (KCBO), Degradasi Bahan Kering (DBK), Degradasi Bahan Organik (DBO), amonia (NH3), Volatile Fatty Acid (VFA). Pada hasil penelitian kulit semangka memiliki kandungan protein kasar tertinggi dan serat kasar yang cukup untuk mendukung fungsi rumen, kandungan fraksi serat yang berpotensi dimanfaatkan oleh ternak ruminansia, parameter NH3 dan VFA yang baik, serta memiliki nilai degradasi dan kecernaan (bahan kering dan bahan organik) cukup tinggi sehingga mikroba bisa degradasi dengan baik, dan mampu mencerminkan kecernaannya yang baik dalam saluran pencernaan ruminansia.
       
      Utilizing fruit peels as alternative feed ingredients is an effort to establish local feed security, reduce pollution, and lower costs. This study aimed to analyze the nutrient content and In Vitro digestibility using buffered rumen fluid of several types of fruit peels, including watermelon, pomelo, red dragon fruit, rambutan, and pineapple peels. Analyses included proximate analysis to measure moisture, ash, crude protein, crude fiber, crude fat, and nitrogen free extract, Van Soest analysis to measure Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) and Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF), and In Vitro to measure dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility, dry matter degradation, organic matter degradation, NH3, and Volatile Fatty Acids (VFA). The results indicated that watermelon peel possessed the highest crude protein content and sufficient crude fiber to support rumen function, it contained fiber fractions potentially utilizable by ruminants, showed favorable NH3 and VFA parameters, and exhibited sufficiently high degradation and digestibility values (dry matter and organic matter) to facilitate effective microbial breakdown, reflecting good digestibility within the ruminant digestive tract.
