      Abstract

The Government Securities (SBN) market plays a crucial role in supporting a country’s economic development and financial stability. This study analyzes the dynamic response of the yield on 10-year Indonesian government bonds to shocks in Bank Indonesia’s SBN holdings and macroeconomic variables over January 2014-April 2026, distinguishing subperiods before and after burden sharing, using the VECM with the IRF and FEVD approaches. IRF results indicate a positive yield response to Bank Indonesia’s holding shock during the pre-burden sharing period, shifting to negative during the post-burden sharing period. Shocks to inflation, exchange rate, and U.S. Treasury yields were met with a positive yield response. Meanwhile, shocks to the BI Rate were met with a positive response during 2014-2020 and a negative response during 2020-2026. FEVD results shows that U.S. Treasury yields became the primary contributors during the 2014-2020 and 2020-2026 period. These findings imply the importance of fiscal-monetary coordination and a resilient domestic investor base.
