      Abstract

Soybean (Glycine max L.) is a strategic food commodity in Indonesia; however, its productivity has remained relatively low. The application of NPK fertilizers has constituted one approach to enhancing plant growth and yield, although the effectiveness of recommended rates has varied across different land conditions. This study aimed to analyze the effects of varying NPK fertilizer rates on the growth and yield components of Grobogan soybean variety. The research was conducted at the Leuwikopo Experimental Field, IPB, employing a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with five fertilizer rate treatments: P1 (0%), P2 (50%), P3 (100%), P4 (150%), and P5 (200%) of the recommended rates (urea 50 kg ha?¹, SP-36 50 kg ha?¹, and KCl 75 kg ha?¹), each replicated four times. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance and Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results indicated that NPK fertilization did not significantly affect most growth parameters or yield components of soybean. Fertilizer treatments only significantly affected plot weight and productivity, but the response was not linear. The highest productivity was obtained in the unfertilized treatment (P1), reaching 3.03 tons ha?¹. Under high soil nutrient availability, increasing NPK fertilizer rates up to 200% of the recommended dose did not consistently enhance soybean productivity and tended to reduce nutrient use efficiency.
