      Abstract

Jakarta, as a hub of urban activity, generates an increasing load of domestic wastewater pollutants, requiring periodic assessment of treatment removal efficiency. This study aimed to measure the removal efficiency of TSS and BOD at WWTP "X", an MBBR-based facility, through three replications in April 2026 across four sampling points. The reduction in TSS was not statistically significant (p-value 0.109 > 0.05), whereas the reduction in BOD was statistically significant (p-value 0.038 < 0.05). TSS removal efficiency reached 46.46% during the day and 81.90% in the morning, while BOD removal efficiency reached 85.56% and 97.86%, respectively, both categorized as highly efficient. All effluent values complied with the quality standards set by PermenLH No. 11 of 2025 (Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. 11 of 2025); however, routine monitoring remains necessary to sustain the treatment performance of WWTP "X".
