dc.description.abstractKetersediaan hijauan berkualitas diperlukan untuk mendukung produktivitas ternak ruminansia sehingga pemanfaatan daun tanaman buah sebagai hijauan alternatif perlu dikaji. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kandungan nutrien serta mengevaluasi kecernaan dan karakteristik fermentasi rumen daun tanaman buah meliputi daun sirsak, daun nangka, daun rambutan, daun jambu biji, dan daun mangga. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Nutrisi Fakultas Peternakan IPB menggunakan analisis proksimat, Van Soest, dan kecernaan in vitro dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) berdasarkan lima jenis hijauan dan dua sumber cairan rumen sapi berfistula sebagai kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa daun nangka memiliki kandungan protein kasar 14,17%, NDF 40,11%, dan ADF 36,37%. Pada pengujian in vitro, daun nangka menghasilkan kecernaan bahan kering sebesar 50,39%, kecernaan bahan organik 45,75%, konsentrasi NH3 9,21 mM, dan produksi VFA 127,3 mM. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa daun nangka mampu mendukung fermentasi rumen dan pemanfaatan nutrien pada ternak ruminansia, sehingga dapat dijadikan hijauan pakan alternatif.
dc.description.abstractQuality forage is needed for ruminant livestock productivity, therefore the use of fruit tree leaves as an alternative forage needs to be studied. This study aimed to analyze nutrient composition and evaluate the digestibility and rumen fermentation characteristics of soursop, jackfruit, rambutan, guava, and mango leaves. The study used proximate, Van Soest, and in vitro digestibility analyses with a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) based on five forage types and two sources of rumen fluid from fistulated cattle as blocks. The results showed that jackfruit leaves contained 14.17% crude protein, 40.11% neutral detergent fiber (NDF), and 36.37% acid detergent fiber (ADF). In the in vitro analysis, jackfruit leaves showed dry matter digestibility of 50.39%, organic matter digestibility of 45.75%, NH3 concentration of 9.21 mM, and volatile fatty acid (VFA) production of 127.3 mM. The results showed that jackfruit leaves support rumen fermentation and nutrient utilization in ruminant livestock and can be used as an alternative forage.
