| dc.description.abstract | Karbon dioksida (CO2) merupakan sumber utama perubahan iklim global
dengan akumulasi di atmosfer yang terus mengalami kenaikan. Sepuluh negara
emitor utama secara kolektif berkontribusi sebesar 68,66% dari total emisi global.
Penelitian ini menggunakan data panel dari sepuluh negara tersebut pada periode
1992-2022 untuk menganalisis determinan emisi CO2 dengan pendekatan
STIRPAT serta menguji hubungan inverted-U antara GDP per kapita dan emisi CO2
berdasarkan hipotesis EKC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh variabel,
yaitu populasi usia 15-64 tahun (P), GDP per kapita (A), ekspor teknologi tinggi
menengah (T), serta inflasi berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap peningkatan
emisi CO2. Sementara itu, berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis EKC terdapat hubungan
inverted-U dengan Negara China, Amerika Serikat, Jepang, Korea Selatan, Jerman,
dan Arab Saudi telah melewati turning point. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Carbon dioxide (CO2) is the primary driver of global climate change, with
its accumulation in the atmosphere continuously increasing. The ten largest
emitting countries collectively contribute 68,66% of total global emissions. This
study employs panel data from these ten countries over the period 1992-2022 to
analyze the determinants of CO2 emissions using the STIRPAT approach, while
simultaneously testing the inverted-U relationship between GDP per capita and
CO2 emissions based on the EKC hypothesis. The results indicate that all variabels,
namely the population aged 15-64 years (P), GDP per capita (A), high and medium
tech exports (T), and inflation, have a positive and significant effect on the increase
in CO2 emissions. Furthermore, the EKC hypothesis testing confirm the existence
of an inverted-U relationship, indicating that China, United States, Japan, South
Korea, Germany, and Saudi Arabia have passed the turning point. | |
