      Abstract

Lampung Province is a major pineapple producer, yet cultivation is highly centralized in Central Lampung. This study aims to map land suitability for pineapples based on climate and soil parameters to recommend potential expansion areas. The method integrates Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) weighting, filtered by land use maps. Potential suitability results reveal that Highly Suitable (S1) land covers 53,587 hectares in East and South Lampung, while Moderately Suitable (S2) land dominates with 2.87 million hectares. Climate suitability is limited by high rainfall volume, whereas soil suitability is supported by ideal texture and slope. After actual land use filtering, S1 land shrank to 22,289 hectares and S2 to 1.96 million hectares due to protected forest areas and urban settlements. These findings imply that pineapple plantation extensification is optimally directed to East Lampung and South Lampung regencies, supported by land availability and excellent agroclimatic suitability.
