      Abstract

The building sector accounts for approximately 40% of total energy consumption, with Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems being the largest consumer, particularly in buildings located in tropical regions. This study aims to apply Building Information Modeling (BIM) 6D at the planning stage of Building X in Bogor City as the basis for energy simulation and to analyze the Energy Consumption Intensity (ECI) value. A 3D model was developed based on Detailed Engineering Design (DED) documents using Autodesk Revit, then simulated through Autodesk Insight with the EnergyPlus simulation engine. The simulation results show a total annual energy consumption of 667,625 kWh over an analyzed floor area of 5,648.2 m², yielding an ECI value of 118.2 kWh/m²/year. Based on Ministerial Regulation of Energy and Mineral Resources (Permen ESDM) No. 3 of 2025, this value is classified as efficient, falling within the 99 = ECI < 135 range for buildings with an area exceeding 5000 m². Energy use was dominated by cooling (55%), followed by interior equipment (21%), lighting (19%), and fans (5%).
