      Abstract

Intravaginal hormone implants are widely used for estrus synchronization in livestock, but their biocompatibility requires further evaluation. This study analyzed blood profiles and physiological responses to intravaginal hormone implantation in Garut sheep. Ten female Garut sheep were assigned to five treatment groups: CIDR, placebo, Single-hormone, Double-hormone, and Multi-hormone. Blood samples were collected before implantation, during implantation, and after explantation and analyzed using a hematology analyzer. Data were analyzed using Repeated Measures ANOVA. Most hematological parameters remained within normal physiological ranges. Significant changes were observed in MCV, MCHC, RDW, platelet count, PCT, P-LCR, and neutrophil percentage, without clinical abnormalities or evidence of systemic rejection. These findings indicate that intravaginal hormone implants have good biocompatibility and are relatively safe for use in Garut sheep.
