| dc.description.abstract | Belangkas (Tachypleus gigas) merupakan biota laut yang memiliki nilai ekologis dan ekonomis, namun populasinya mengalami penurunan karena terjadinya penangkapan belangkas baik secara sengaja maupun tidak sengaja sebagai tangkapan sampingan (bycatch) dalam aktivitas perikanan. Upaya pelestarian dilakukan melalui konservasi ex-situ, terutama pada fase juvenil. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis preferensi makanan juvenil Tachypleus gigas dalam mendukung keberhasilan pengelolaan konservasi ex-situ. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas tiga perlakuan makanan, yaitu artemia, udang, dan kerang dengan tiga kali ulangan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi pertumbuhan berat mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik (SGR), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), efisiensi pakan, survival rate (SR), distribusi frekuensi morfometrik, dan kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan makan kerang memberikan hasil terbaik secara deskriptif dengan nilai laju pertumbuhan spesifik, distribusi frekuensi morfometrik, efisiensi pakan lebih tinggi serta nilai FCR lebih rendah dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Uji statistik menunjukkan perlakuan makanan berpengaruh nyata terhadap FCR dan efisiensi pakan, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan berat mutlak dan SGR juvenil Tachypleus gigas. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The horseshoe crab (Tachypleus gigas) is a marine species with significant ecological and economic value. However, its population has been declining due to both targeted harvesting and incidental capture as bycatch in fisheries activities. This study aimed to analyze the food preferences of juvenile Tachypleus gigas to support successful ex-situ conservation management. An experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was employed, consisting of three dietary treatments: Artemia, shrimp, and green mussels, each with three replicates. The observed parameters included absolute weight gain, specific growth rate (SGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), feed efficiency, survival rate (SR), morphometric frequency distribution, and water quality. The results showed that the green mussel treatment produced the best overall performance, with higher specific growth rate, morphometric frequency distribution, and feed efficiency, as well as a lower feed conversion ratio than the other treatments. Statistical analysis indicated that dietary treatment had a significant effect on feed conversion ratio (FCR) and feed efficiency, but no significant effect on the absolute weight gain or specific growth rate (SGR) of juvenile Tachypleus gigas. | |
