| dc.description.abstract | The horseshoe crab (Tachypleus gigas) is a coastal aquatic organism that plays an important ecological role. However, it is currently classified as Data Deficient, indicating that information regarding its ecology and biology is still limited. Changes in water temperature resulting from anthropogenic activities and environmental changes may affect the distribution and reproductive activity of horseshoe crabs. This study aimed to analyze the effect of different rearing temperatures on the reproductive activity of horseshoe crabs as a basis for developing ex-situ conservation efforts. The study was conducted from February to March 2026 at Microbiology Laboratory 1, Department of Aquatic Resources Management, IPB University. The treatments consisted of three rearing temperatures, (P1) 26°C, (P2) 28°C, and (P3) 31°C. The results showed that there were no significant differences among temperature treatments on reproductive activity. However, response variations were observed, with 28°C tending to exhibit more complete reproductive indicators than the other treatments | |
