      Abstract

Self-Compacting Geopolymer Concrete (SCGC) based on fly ash is a sustainable alternative to conventional concrete, although achieving adequate workability remains challenging. This study evaluated the workability, compressive strength, wastewater quality, and carbon footprint of SCGC using NaOH molarities of 8 M, 10 M, and 12 M with a NaOH-to-Na2SiO3 ratio of 1:1.5. The results showed that all SCGC mixtures failed to satisfy the EFNARC (2005) criteria because the slump flow values were below the required range, preventing further L-Box and V-Funnel tests. The 12 M mixture under ambient curing achieved the highest 28-day compressive strength of 35.39 MPa, while heat curing accelerated strength development to 29.18 MPa at 7 days. Compared with conventional concrete, SCGC produced wastewater with better environmental performance in several parameters and reduced CO2 emissions by 43.44%. These findings demonstrate the potential of fly ash-based SCGC as a more sustainable construction material, although further improvement in workability is still required.
