dc.description.abstractJerawat dialami oleh sekitar 85% populasi dunia. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak aseton daun surian dari Toona sinensis terhadap bakteri penyebab jerawat, yaitu Cutibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus aureus, dan Staphylococcus epidermidis. Aktivitas antibakteri diuji menggunakan metode difusi cakram dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak dan parameter diameter zona hambat. Aktivitas terbesar diperoleh pada konsentrasi 80 mg/mL dengan zona hambat sebesar 6,38±0,19c mm terhadap C. acnes, 11,66±0,18b mm terhadap S. aureus, dan 14,61±0,32a mm terhadap S. epidermidis. Uji ANOVA menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan (p<0,05). Nilai Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) diperoleh pada konsentrasi 7,5 mg/mL terhadap C. acnes dan S. aureus, serta 1 mg/mL terhadap S. epidermidis. Nilai Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimum (KBM) menunjukkan aktivitas bakterisidal pada konsentrasi 7,5 mg/mL terhadap C. acnes dan S. aureus, serta 2,5 mg/mL terhadap S. epidermidis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak aseton pada daun surian memiliki aktivitas antibakteri alami yang dapat digunakan sebagai obat alternatif jerawat.
dc.description.abstractAcne vulgaris affects approximately 85% of the world’s population. This study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial activity of acetone extract of surian leaves from Toona sinensis against acne-causing bacteria, namely Cutibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus aureus, and Staphylococcus epidermidis. Antibacterial activity was evaluated using the disc diffusion method with various extract concentrations, and inhibition zone diameter was used as the observed parameter. The highest antibacterial activity was observed at a concentration of 80 mg/mL, producing inhibition zones of 6.38±0.19c mm against C. acnes, 11.66±0.18b mm against S.aureus, and 14.61±0.32a mm against S. epidermidis. ANOVA analysis showed significant differences (p<0.05). The Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) values were 7.5 mg/mL against C. acnes and S. aureus, and 1 mg/mL against S. epidermidis. The Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) values indicated bactericidal activity at concentrations 7.5 mg/mL against C. acnes and S. aureus, and 2.5 mg/mL against S. epidermidis. The results of the study showed that the acetone extract of surian leaves has natural antibacterial activity and can be used as an alternative treatment for acne.
