dc.description.abstractJagung (Zea mays L.) merupakan komoditi penting yang terus dikembangkan melalui program pemuliaan untuk menghasilkan varietas unggul yang adaptif terhadap lingkungan target. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi penampilan agronomi dan adaptabilitas hibrida jagung pipil di dataran tinggi Garut, Jawa Barat. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2025 hingga Februari 2026. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan kelompok lengkap teracak augmented. Genotipe yang diuji sebanyak 90 hibrida tanpa ulangan dan 6 varietas pembanding (BISI18, JHG02, NK Perkasa, NK Sumo, P21, dan P27) yang diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat keragaman genotipe uji pada beberapa karakter pengamatan. Umur panen rata-rata berada pada 105 hari. Analisis daya gabung umum karakter produktivitas menunjukkan hasil tetua L15, L26, P2A dan P42 memiliki nilai lebih tinggi dibandingkan tetua lainnya. Daya gabung khusus yang tinggi untuk karakter produktivitas terdapat pada kombinasi H1 × L26 dan L26 × P2A. Seleksi multi-karakter berdasarkan indeks MGIDI mengidentifikasi genotipe H1 × L15, L53 × P2A, dan H1× P2A sebagai genotipe unggul dengan performa relatif seimbang pada berbagai karakter. Genotipe-genotipe tersebut berpotensi untuk diuji lebih lanjut dalam program pemuliaan jagung untuk dataran tinggi.
dc.description.abstractMaize (Zea mays L.) is an important commodity that continues to be improved through breeding programs to develop improved varieties that are adapted to target environments. This study aimed to evaluate the agronomic performance and adaptability of maize hybrids under upland conditions in Garut, West Java. The experiment was conducted from October 2025 to February 2026. The experiment was arranged in an augmented randomized complete block design. The genotypes tested were 90 hybrids without replication and 6 check varieties (BISI18, JHG02, NK Perkasa, NK Sumo, P21, and P27) replicated across three blocks. The results showed variability among the tested genotypes on several traits. The days to harvest were approximately 105 days. Analysis of general combining ability on productivity showed that L15, L26, P2A and P42 parents had higher values compared to other parents. High specific combining ability was found in H1 × L26 and L26 × P2A combinations. Multi-trait selection using the MGIDI index indentified H1 × L15, L53 × P2A, and H1 × P2A as genotypes with relatively balanced performance across multiple traits. These genotypes have the potential for further evaluation in breeding programs targeting upland environments.
