      Aktivitas Antibakteri Kombinasi Ekstrak Daun Toona sinensis dan Camellia sinensis Terhadap Bakteri Penyebab Jerawat

      Abstract
      Acne vulgaris merupakan infeksi kulit yang umum terjadi dan disebabkan oleh bakteri seperti P. acnes, S. aureus, dan S. epidermidis. Tingginya risiko efek samping terapi jerawat berbahan sintetik mendorong pencarian alternatif terapi berbahan alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji aktivitas antibakteri kombinasi ekstrak daun surian (Toona sinensis) dan teh putih (Camellia sinensis) terhadap bakteri P. acnes, S. aureus, dan S. epidermidis. Metode yang digunakan meliputi uji aktivitas antibakteri metode difusi cakram serta penentuan Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) dan Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimum (KBM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kombinasi ekstrak daun surian dan teh putih memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap ketiga bakteri uji dengan zona hambat yang bervariasi pada konsentrasi yang sama (60 mg/mL). Adapun hasil uji KHM kombinasi ekstrak daun terhadap ketiga bakteri menunjukkan konsentrasi hambat minimum berada di 30 mg/mL (P. acnes), 20 mg/mL (S. epidermidis) dan 5 mg/mL (S. aureus) serta ketiganya tergolong dalam kategori aktivitas antibakteri lemah. Aktivitas antibakteri yang diberikan kombinasi ekstrak daun tersebut menunjukkan adanya interaksi antagonis dan bersifat bakteriostatik (berdasarkan hasil KBM).
       
      Acne vulgaris is a common skin infection caused by bacteria such as P. acnes, S. aureus, and S. epidermidis. The high risk of side effects from synthetic acne therapies encourages the search for alternative natural therapies. This study aims to explore the potential antibacterial activity of a combination of surian (Toona sinensis) and white tea (Camellia sinensis) leaves extracts against acne-causing bacteria. The methods used include a disc diffusion antibacterial acitiviy test, MIC and MBC. The result showed that the combination of surian and white tea leaves extract had antibacterial activity againts all test bacteria with varying inhibition zones at the same concentration (60 mg/mL). The MIC results showed inhibition zones with the lowest concentrations at 30 mg/mL (P. acnes), 20 mg/mL (S. epidermidis) and 5 mg/mL (S. aureus) which are included in the category of weak antibacterial activity. The antibacterial activity of combination extracts shows antagonistic interactions and extracts are bacteriostatic (based on the MBC results)
