      Abstract

Pacific whiteleg shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei is one of the key species in brackish-water aquaculture. One approach to improving pacific whiteleg shrimp aquaculture productivity is to add a phytobiotic in the form of tongkat ali Eurycoma longifolia extract. The objective of this study was to evaluate the addition of tongkat ali extract to feed on the growth, feed conversion ratio, and survival of pacific whiteleg shrimp. This study consisted of a control diet without tongkat ali extract (K), a diet supplemented with 1,2% tongkat ali extract (EB12), and a diet supplemented with 2% tongkat ali extract (EB20), each with three replicates. Pacific whiteleg shrimp were reared in 308,55 L fiberglass tanks with an initial shrimp weight of 3,52 ± 0,02 g. The specific weight growth rate for EB12 was 2,11 ± 0,02 % day?¹, the specific length growth rate for EB20 was 0,82 ± 0,19 % day?¹, the feed conversion ratio for EB12 was 1,45 ± 0,04, and the survival rate for the EB12 treatment was 85 ± 5,95 %. Tongkat ali with a dose of 1,2% tends to provide better shrimp production performance.
