dc.description.abstractPemanasan global akibat peningkatan emisi gas rumah kaca mendorong perlunya upaya mitigasi melalui pengelolaan hutan sebagai penyerap karbon. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis biomassa dan simpanan karbon pada tegakan Rubroshorea selanica berdasarkan perbedaan sumber bibit di Hutan Penelitian Gunung Dahu, Bogor. Penelitian menggunakan metode purposive sampling pada plot berjarak tanam 2×2 m. Pendugaan biomassa dilakukan secara non-destruktif menggunakan persamaan alometrik, sedangkan tumbuhan bawah dan serasah dianalisis secara destruktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa biomassa dan simpanan karbon pada kedua sumber bibit tergolong tinggi dan didominasi oleh komponen aboveground. Tegakan dari stek memiliki nilai simpanan karbon (112,13 tonC/ha) lebih tinggi dibandingkan seed (82,52 tonC/ha) namun perbedaannya tidak signifikan secara statistik. Analisis menunjukkan kerapatan tajuk berpengaruh positif dan signifikan. Faktor kelerengan menunjukkan hubungan negatif yang sangat lemah dan tidak signifikan. Dengan demikian, simpanan karbon pada tegakan Rubroshorea selanica (D.C) lebih dipengaruhi oleh struktur tegakan seperti diameter dan kerapatan dibandingkan sumber bibit, sehingga Hutan Penelitian Gunung Dahu memiliki potensi tinggi sebagai simpanan karbon dalam mitigasi perubahan iklim.
dc.description.abstractGlobal warming caused by increasing greenhouse gas emissions necessitates mitigation efforts through forest management as a carbon sink. This study aims to analyze biomass and carbon stocks of Rubroshorea selanica stands based on different planting materials in the Gunung Dahu Research Forest, Bogor. The research was conducted using purposive sampling on plots with 2×2 m spacing. Biomass was estimated using non-destructive allometric equations, while understory vegetation and litter were measured destructively. The results show that biomass and carbon stocks from both planting sources are high and dominated by aboveground components. Stands from cuttings have higher carbon stock (112,13 tonC/ha) than seeds (82,52 tonC/ha), although the difference is not statistically significant. Analysis indicates that canopy density shows a positive and significant. Slope shows a very weak and non-significant negative relationship. Therefore, carbon storage in Rubroshorea selanica (D.C) stands is more influenced by stand structure such as diameter and density rather than planting source, highlighting the high potential of stock carbon the Gunung Dahu Research Forest for climate change mitigation.
