      Aktivitas Antibakteri Ekstrak Aseton Daun Surian (Toona sinensis) Terhadap Bakteri Patogen Menggunakan Metode Difusi Cakram

      Abstract
      World Health Organization (WHO) memperkirakan terjadi 10 juta kematian pada tahun 2050 yang disebabkan oleh peningkatan resistensi antimikroba. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji efektivitas ekstrak aseton daun tanaman surian (Toona sinensis) sebagai antibakteri patogen menggunakan metode difusi cakram. Metode penelitian mencakup ekstraksi maserasi, preparasi media dan bakteri, serta pengujian ekstrak dengan metode difusi cakram. Hasil aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak aseton daun surian optimum pada konsentrasi 60 mg/mL dengan diameter zona hambat sebesar 10,37±0,21 mm pada Escherichia coli, 11,23±1,10 mm pada Salmonella typhimurium, dan 10,90±2,88 mm pada Bacillus subtilis. Konsentrasi hambat minimum (KHM) ditemukan pada konsentrasi 0,5 mg/mL pada E. coli, 1 mg/mL pada S. typhimurium, dan 5 mg/mL pada B. subtilis, sedangkan konsentrasi bunuh minimum (KBM) tidak ditemukan. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun surian memiliki potensi sebagai agen antibakteri terhadap bakteri patogen penyebab diare secara bakteriostatik.
       
      The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that there will be 10 million deaths in 2050 due to increased antimicrobial resistance. This study aims to test the effectiveness of acetone extract from surian leaves (Toona sinensis) as an antibacterial agent against pathogens using the disc diffusion method. The research methods included maceration extraction, preparation of media and bacteria, and testing of the extract using the disk diffusion method. The optimum antibacterial activity of the acetone extract of surian leaves was found at a concentration of 60 mg/mL with an inhibition zone diameter of 10,37±0,21 mm in Escherichia coli, 11,23±1,10 mm in Salmonella typhimurium, and 10,90±2,88 mm in Bacillus subtilis. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was found at a concentration of 0.5 mg/mL for E. coli, 1 mg/mL for S. typhimurium, and 5 mg/mL for B. subtilis, while the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) was not found. The conclusion shows surian leaf extract has potential as a bacteriostatic antibacterial agent against pathogenic bacteria that cause diarrhea.
