      Abstract

This study compares conventional watering and drip irrigation in a G0 potato nursery at PT Agro Lestari Merbabu using a comparative design (20 samples per method one cycle). Analyses covered costs (fixed, variable, unit cost), R/C, partial budgeting, and independent-samples t-tests (a = 0.05). Drip irrigation produced 13 seedlings per unit, while the conventional method produced 9 seedlings per unit (p < 0.05), with water use of 10–15 ml per 10 minutes versus 55.5 ml (p < 0.05). Unit cost decreased from Rp1,436 to Rp937 (-34.78%), cost efficiency improved from 60.34% to 40.50%, R/C rose from 1.66 to 2.47 and partial budgeting indicated Rp11.44 million additional profit per cycle. Drip irrigation is thus more productive, more cost-efficient, and financially feasible as the operational standard.
