dc.description.abstractPerkembangan teknologi digital mengubah cara individu mengakses informasi, membangun identitas profesional, dan mempersiapkan diri memasuki dunia kerja. LinkedIn menjadi salah satu platform yang banyak dimanfaatkan, tidak hanya sebagai etalase karier, tetapi juga sebagai alat strategis untuk mencari pekerjaan, membangun jejaring, dan memperoleh informasi relevan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan antara penggunaan LinkedIn dan akses informasi dunia kerja pada fresh graduate Program Studi Komunikasi Digital dan Media, Sekolah Vokasi IPB University. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif melalui survei dengan teknik purposive sampling terhadap 102 responden. Instrumen berupa kuesioner skala Likert, dengan landasan teori Uses and Gratifications serta Information Seeking Behavior. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan sangat kuat dan signifikan antara penggunaan LinkedIn dan akses informasi dunia kerja (r = 0,754; sig < 0,001). Temuan ini menegaskan kontribusi strategis LinkedIn dalam meningkatkan kesiapan karier fresh graduate melalui pemanfaatan informasi, tren industri, serta jejaring profesional.
dc.description.abstractThe development of digital technology has transformed how individuals access information, build professional identities, and prepare for the workforce. LinkedIn has emerged as a widely used platform, serving not only as a career showcase but also as a strategic tool for job searching, networking, and obtaining relevant labor market information. This study aims to examine the relationship between LinkedIn usage and access to career-related information among fresh graduates of the Digital and Media Communication Study Program, Vocational School of IPB University. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method with purposive sampling of 102 respondents. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire, guided by the Uses and Gratifications theory and Information Seeking Behavior framework. Findings reveal a strong and significant relationship between LinkedIn usage and access to career information (r = 0.754; sig < 0.001). These results highlight LinkedIn’s strategic role in enhancing vocational graduates’ career readiness through improved access to job opportunities, industry trends, and professional networks.
