      Abstract

Product quality is a critical factor in the automotive industry, as it directly impacts customer safety and satisfaction. This study aims to analyze quality control measures in the assembly process of the 4W caliper brake product, specifically the D55L New type, at PT XYZ. Based on the 2024 reject ratio data, the assembly area reported the highest defect rate compared to other areas, at 0.73%. This research applies the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle methodology combined with analytical tools such as Pareto Diagrams, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA). The analysis identifies several dominant defects requiring immediate resolution to reduce the reject ratio. By implementing recommendations derived from FMEA analysis, the company can enhance its production process and significantly improve product quality. This study is expected to contribute to the development of more effective quality control strategies, benefiting not only for company but also the broader manufacturing industry.
