      Abstract
Data dianalisis menggunakan uji two-way ANOVA.

Transportation to slaughterhouses induces stress in broiler chickens, impacting physiological parameters and body weight. This study assessed the effect of resting duration on stress indicators prior to slaughter. From August to November 2024, 144 broilers were divided by body weight into two groups: K1 (>1.5 kg) and K2 (=1.5 kg), each receiving either 60 (P1) or 120 minutes (P2) of rest. Parameters measured included body temperature (°C), respiratory rate (breaths/min), and body weight loss (kg), analysed using two-way ANOVA. Results showed that resting time and body weight significantly influenced body temperature reduction (p=0.05), but did not significantly affect respiratory rate or weight loss (p>0.05). Both rest durations reduced physiological stress, though environmental factors, particularly high humidity, contributed to elevated respiratory rates. Adequate resting time, combined with proper environmental management, can reduce transport-induced stress in broilers, improving pre-slaughter welfare and physiological stability.
