Gas is a widely used energy source in the household, commercial and industrial sectors. However, gas leaks can pose risks such as fire and explosion. This research aims to design an Internet of Things (IoT)-based gas leak detection system using TGS2610 sensor and ESP32 microcontroller. This system detects the presence of gases such as Propane, Butane, and Methane, and provides early warning through buzzer and real-time notification to Telegram. Tests show that the system has an accuracy rate of 95.99%, with detection thresholds of Safe (=1000 ppm) and Danger (>1000 ppm) in accordance with Indonesian National Standards. In addition, the sensor is able to detect gas up to a distance of 200 cm, where the system still responds by activating the buzzer and sending a notification. However, at a distance of 210 cm, the sensor starts to lose its sensitivity. The test results also prove that the system can send notifications in real-time, so that users can monitor gas conditions remotely. With this system, it is expected that gas leaks can be detected more quickly, so that preventive measures can be taken immediately to improve safety.
