Perancangan Gerbang 4 IPB dan Simpang Babakan Raya-Dramaga sebagai Upaya Meningkatkan Kinerja Lalu Lintas Kawasan Eksternal IPB
Abstract
Pertumbuhan penduduk dan peningkatan mobilitas di sekitar IPB University, khususnya di Jalan Raya Dramaga, menyebabkan kemacetan parah di Simpang Bara, terutama pada jam sibuk pagi dan sore. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis volume lalu lintas, kapasitas, dan kinerja simpang saat ini, merancang Gerbang 4 IPB yang optimal, serta mengevaluasi dampaknya terhadap kinerja lalu lintas di Simpang Babakan Raya-Dramaga dan merancang perbaikannya. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa simpang mengalami overcapacity dengan derajat kejenuhan mencapai 1,22 pada pagi hari dan 1,3 pada sore hari, disertai tundaan signifikan. Rencana pembangunan Gerbang 4 IPB diperkirakan dapat mengurangi arus kendaraan di Simpang Babakan Raya-Dramaga secara signifikan. Perbaikan geometri simpang, seperti pelebaran dan pengalihan arus, berhasil menurunkan derajat kejenuhan menjadi 0,87 dan mengurangi tundaan menjadi 14 detik/SMP pada pagi hari. Namun, rekayasa simpang sebidang belum mampu mengatasi lonjakan lalu lintas pada sore hari. Sebagai solusi jangka panjang, direkomendasikan pembangunan simpang tak sebidang (overpass). Population growth and increased mobility around IPB University, particularly along Jalan Raya Dramaga, have caused severe congestion at the Babakan Raya-Dramaga Intersection, especially during morning and evening peak hours. This study aims to analyze current traffic volume, capacity, and intersection performance; design an optimal Gate 4 for IPB; assess its impact on traffic performance at the Babakan Raya-Dramaga Intersection; and propose intersection improvements. The results indicate that the intersection is over capacity, with a degree of saturation reaching 1.22 in the morning and 1.3 in the evening, accompanied by significant delays. The planned construction of IPB Gate 4 is expected to significantly reduce traffic volume at the Babakan Raya-Dramaga Intersection. Geometric improvements to the intersection, such as road widening and traffic flow redirection, successfully reduced the degree of saturation to 0.87 and shortened delays to 14 seconds/PCU in the morning. However, at-grade intersection engineering has not effectively addressed traffic surges during the evening peak. As a long-term solution, the construction of a grade-separated intersection (overpass) is recommended.
