      Abstract

Vibrio harveyi is a pathogenic bacteria that causes vibriosis in shrimp and causes death of 80% to 85% of the population. This study aims to determine the role of totok mussels Geloina expansa combined with phytoplankton, to suppress the population of vibrio bacteria in waters that can cause vibriosis in whiteleg shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. The study design used the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used were treatment K (not given phytoplankton), N400 (nannochloropsis 400 mL/day), S400 (spirulina 400 mL/day). This experiment showed that the presence of totok mussels using spirulina phytoplankton (S400 treatment) showed the best results in suppressing the population of Vibrio harveyi pathogens in waters, seen from the lowest total vibrio on the last day of observation. The S400 treatment also showed the best results in increasing the immunity of whiteleg shrimp with the highest THC value obtained on the last day of observation and producing the highest survival rate in whiteleg shrimp at 76%.
